A little about the subscription...
The WoC and Feminist books are chosen via a group process.
Both categories are connected to a book club where each month,
members throw a collection of books out for consideration,
make a small argument about their nomination and then vote.
I love this process!
I love the process because it is both democratic and educational.
At each step, we learn something about the book, the person who chose it
and the group itself. Over the past few years, it has fostered a sense
of closeness among members.
For example, Adiah loves historical romance and middle grade.
Both Adiah and Mary will write an author to express their gratitude.
Mileka is a deep thinker and feeler. And, she doesn't mind doing a deep dive with me via text (and if you know me, you know I love a text convo).
Only time and a good process allows for us to know one another
beyond being book club members. We're bookish soulmates.
We're becoming friends.
So, when you see our subscription choices,
ask yourself, what does it say about the community?
Is it one that I want to be part of?

if you don't already, I encourage monthly financial audits.
Of the many things I learned in 2022, is if you're not paying attention to where your money is going, you aren't intentionally directing it towards your dreams.
Last year, I started monthly financial audits
and learned so much about myself, habits and areas of improvement.
It isn't easy however, I can't fix what I can't face.
I deserve the best. I am worthy. So, I will continue to be
intentional about facing my present to direct my future.
