I just complained to my friend, Christina, about how long and tedious curating videos can be. This is especially true for a rookie like me!
However, after reviewing the finished product, I am a grateful that I stuck with the process. I have a ritual of writing a list of A to Z of all the things I accomplished in a year.
Sometimes, I'm lucky enough to have to start a second list!
While cathartic, affirming and grounding, there's something about doing the same in pictures. I am deeply moved in a totally different way seeing all we've done, the smiles we've teased out and the impact we've had.
We couldn't have done any of this with you!
Fam, if you haven't done some type of year in review - to simply say "I did that"
please do. Even if you did not meet all your goals; I surely did not, the journey is worth a celebration. YOU are worth celebrating!
You really are!
I'll kick it off for you (cause I'm a good friend like that).
If you supported Cafe con Libros or any indie bookstore,
count that as a win, Friend! You helped to keep an independent bookstore in business. And listen, in post rump (< JR, thanks for this, lol) america,
that's a political act worthy of celebration.
Here's to You/s for all we did in 2023 and what we will do as an united community of humans on the right side of herstory in 2024!
always,
-kqd.
