About the Event
Nikkya Hargrove is a graduate of Bard College and currently serves as a member of the school's Board of Governors and chair of the alumni/ae Diversity Committee. A LAMBDA Literary Nonfiction Fellow, she has written about adoption, marriage, motherhood, and the prison system for The Washington Post, The Guardian, The New York Times, Scary Mommy, and Shondaland. She has worked for social impact nonprofits providing support to underserved communities throughout her professional career. She lives in Connecticut with her wife and three children.
In conversation with Nikkya Hargrove, is Grace Porter, a New York based, multi-hyphenated artist, originally from Pasadena, California. Grace Porter recently made her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman as Letta/Jazz Singer. She has been seen in the Williamstown production of Lempicka, The Public Theater’s Mobile Unit production of Measure For Measure, the Multi-Media instillation experience Definition, and The Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park production of Richard III. TV credits include Madam Secretary, Prodigal Son, Blue Bloods and is currently recurring on GodFather of Harlem as Dr. Betty Shabazz. Movie credits include “Figments” (short), “Under a Silver Moon (short), “Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies”, and “Clock”.
